The Chevrolet Teen Driver Technology feature allows you to customize vehicle settings that are associated with a key fob to help regulate and encourage driver behavior. This technology can limit certain features in the vehicle and can automatically activate equipped safety systems when the vehicle is running. You can receive an in-vehicle report card to get an in-depth look at the driving habits of your teen driver, like how many alerts the system gave them, what their maximum speed was, and how far they traveled.

The Teen Driver Technology is a built-in feature that can help your teen driver improve their driving skills even when you aren’t in the car with them. This feature can control a number of in-car features to keep your teen driver safe by performing actions like muting the audio until front-seat passengers have buckled their seat belts and automatically turning on active safety features.

To set up this feature all you have to do is navigate to the Teen Driver menu in the Chevrolet MyLink display and register a key fob for your teen. Now when they drive the vehicle with the registered key, the Teen Driver system will automatically enable features like the Custom Speed Alert, Speed Limiter, Seat Belt Audio Mute, and Audio Limit. Teen Driver Technology is currently available in select Chevrolet vehicles like the CruzeEquinox, MalibuTahoe, Traverse, and others.
