Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV Active Safety Features
What comes to mind when you think “Jeep”? You might say “rugged” or maybe “adventurous,” but what about “safe”? The 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes loaded with a variety of active safety features to keep you safe behind the wheel. Here are a few that stand out to us.
Adaptive Cruise Control
Are you sick of constantly resetting your cruise control for drivers that can’t seem to pick a speed? You’ll enjoy the Grand Cherokee’s available Adaptive Cruise Control function. This setting will automatically adjust your driving speed to maintain your desired distance from the vehicle ahead. When no vehicle is detected, the system functions just like your normal cruise control.
Whether it’s to avoid another vehicle, pedestrians or wandering wildlife, sometimes slamming on the brakes is the only option. For the times when these obstacles catch us off guard, the Grand Cherokee’s available Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning function has you covered. The front sensors alert you when approaching an obstacle, and if you’re unable to respond in time, the vehicle will automatically brake for you.
Lane Departure Warning
The day of the jolting rumble strip has passed. Jeep’s available LaneSense system will alert you when your car unintentionally veers from its lane. In the case that you are unable to respond to the alert, LaneSense will even help steer your vehicle back into its correct course. There’s a time and a place to go off road, after all.
Say goodbye to the stress of city parking with Jeep’s available ParkSense system. In addition to the wide-view back up camera, four sensors located at the vehicle’s rear alert you when an obstacle is close. The SUV will even steer for you as you park. The Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist system controls the steering wheel while providing step-by-step instructions for operating the gear position, brake and accelerator.
